Our History

The M.I.A.M.I. Team is composed of missionaries, church planters and national leaders working together to extend the Kingdom of God. Our board members are all bi-vocational representing business and the classroom in Jim Bulkley, Joseph Holbrook, Judy Vento, John Meadows and Ken Knight.

Joseph Holbrook founded and the team as a missionary church planter untill his "call" led him to pursue a PH.D in Latin America church history. He is currently leading small groups and discussions both on and off campus. The baton as director was handed to Jim Bulkley in 2007. Jim continues to oversee the team’s mission trips to Mexico and operates in the prophetic, administration, evangelism and financial counseling.

The Holbrook’s

The M.I.A.M.I. Team vision was originally born in Ohio in the early 80's. Joseph and Debbie were involved in several church planting endeavors in central Ohio. Joseph and Debbie have been married since 1974. They have four children, Sarah, Jessica, Ruth and John; two sons-in-law; Carlos and Jimmy; and three grandchildren; Aaron, Sierra  Alexander and Marcus.

The Bulkley’s

Jim and Ellen met and married in Miami in 1992. Ellen had lived in Costa Rica where she learned Spanish and to worship the Lord in this beautiful language. She felt a call to missions and was recruited by Joseph and the M.I.A.M.I. team to be part of the CARIS, a bi-lingual church-plant in Miami. The Bulkley's became involved in the local church and faithfully served in care groups, worship ministry and finance. In 1995, Jim began accompanying Joseph on mission trips to Colombia, Cuba, Guatemala and Mexico. In 1996 Jim began taking teams to Mexico. In July 2008, he will have led his 21st trip to the Sierra Madre Mountains working with Sebastian and the churchs in Mexico.
